BRYC Open 8/15 + Important Announcements

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear BRYC Family,

The BRYC staff stands in solidarity with you during this trying time. We know that many have experienced tremendous loss, and we are writing to say we are here — today, tomorrow, and in the weeks and months ahead as we rebuild.

As you know, schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. We do not know about the rest of the week yet. BRYC will be open Monday (8/15) and Tuesday (8/16) from 9am-5pm. Fellows who can safely make it to BRYC are encouraged to come and enjoy community, food (breakfast & lunch), and a break from the rain. If you can’t make it physically, join us live on Google hangout. We will send updates about our Wednesday-Friday schedule soon.

BRYC is working to help families who have experienced loss. We will be holding a “Closet Clean-Out” to collect donations for flood victims; we are coordinating with supply centers to collect essential resources; finally, we will be raising money to help Fellows purchase school supplies. More to come soon on all of this.

South Louisiana is a landscape forged by history and water, as the water ebbs and flows and we stand at the threshold of loss, remember that nothing rises above our strength, hope, and collective commitment to putting one foot in front of the other — in the direction of healing and recovery.

With love, with you,
The BRYC Staff
