Candace Daymond, Community Relations Manager
As BRYC’s Community Relations Manager, Candace plays a key role in BRYC’s recruitment, communications, fundraising, and community outreach efforts.
A native of Tallahassee, FL, Candace graduated from Florida A&M University in 2015 with a B.A. in English. She continued her education at Florida State University, earning her M.A. in English and taught freshman composition, research writing, and business writing. After completing her graduate degree, Candace relocated to Seattle, WA, where she provided communications support at Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center. While there, she connected student and professional researchers to world-class technology and experts to support groundbreaking research. Since arriving in Baton Rouge, Candace has served as a Policy Research Fellow for the South Louisiana Coalition for Education (SLCE), an organization supported by the Leadership for Educational Equity. In this role, she worked to identify community priorities and use research to steer decision-making in school systems. Her passions include reading, writing, educational equity, community advocacy, and cultural studies. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, binging TV dramas, and reviewing the latest music.
