Dani Klein, Director of Curriculum
Dani has been in education since before college, delivering reading interventions to elementary schoolers as a City Year Miami corps member after she graduated high school. Immediately after that, she served with City Year in Miami, . Next Dani earned an M.A. from Marquette University in English literature, after which she spent a year in Madrid examining international curricula as a Fulbright Scholar. Upon returning to the U.S., Dani taught ninth, 11th, and 12-grade English for two years in St. Helena, Louisiana before becoming BRYC’s freshmen programs coordinator. In this role, Dani oversaw staggering academic and socioemotional growth, adding to her track record of effectively ushering 8th-graders through their high school transition. In summer 2019, Dani was promoted to director of curriculum. In this capacity, she supports a significantly larger 9th and 10th-grade cohort and and has designed a curriculum centering on 1) academic growth through self-regulated learning and 2) socioemotional growth through teamwork and project-based learning. Dani’s work at BRYC is informed by her doctoral work in curriculum and instruction at LSU, which she is in the dissertation phase of.
