Michelle Myers, Writing Manager
Michelle joined the BRYC team in August 2017. As writing manager, they plan and execute programs and initiatives that set our Senior Fellows up for success in the writing-focused elements of the college admissions and financial aid processes. Michelle also designs writing-focused programs for non-Senior Fellows and plays a key role with Community Day lesson planning.
A native of Oregon and Florida, Michelle graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in creative writing and education. Michelle also secured an M.F.A. from the University of Arkansas, where they taught courses in rhetoric and composition, business writing, and creative writing – both to undergraduates at Arkansas and 3rd-12th graders with the Writers in Schools Program. Michelle is a founding member of Open Mouth, a literary arts non-profit serving Northwest Arkansas. They are incredibly passionate about making writing a liberating and accessible practice for all, especially BRYC Fellows. Outside of BRYC, Michelle enjoys gardening, old movies, and their dog Joan.
