Rachel Howatt, Underclassmen Learning Manager
Rachel joined the BRYC team in the summer of 2021. As an underclassmen learning manager, Rachel supports a cohort of high school sophomores and their parents and mentors to start high school strong.
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Rachel earned her B.A. in English Literature and secondary education teaching endorsement from Seattle Pacific University. After graduating, she taught middle school English Language Arts and history before relocating to the United Kingdom to attend graduate school, where she earned her masters in English and comparative literature. Upon returning to the U.S., Rachel worked as a substitute teacher and loved having the opportunity to work in various classrooms and with all age groups. In 2016, Rachel moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU and teach general education courses while earning her PhD in English Literature; she is currently working on her dissertation. Rachel loves to spend time at home, knit, and garden.
