Last spring, The Baton Rouge Clinic presented Alumnus Trinton Harris (MSA West ’20, LSU ’24) with a Health Fellows Scholarship. This fall, they hired him. “I saw The Clinic’s listing for an ophthalmic technician during my last semester, but I was so focused on graduating that I completely put future jobs on the back burner,” Trinton said.
When the post was reactivated in August, he reached out to Chief of Persistence Catherine Molleno for advice. “She made sure they knew I was interested. I was successfully able to secure an interview and ultimately the job.”
At The Clinic, Trinton works directly under an ophthalmologist and optometrist, playing a key role in patient care and assisting with minor procedures. He’s also studying for the OAT (optometry admission test) in preparation for optometry school.
“I would say that BRYC is highly responsible for me getting hired at The Clinic,” Trinton added. “I am forever grateful for Ms. Catherine and the BRYC team as a whole.”
