Alumna Kari Stephens (BRMHS ’18, LSU ’22, ’23) says she is “honored” to join the Child First team at Baton Rouge’s Reilly Center for Children and Families. After graduating with a master’s of social work, Kari found a career mentor in Bree Spielfogel, wife of BRYC’s executive director, who connected Kari with her first role in Tulane’s TIKES program and advocated for her new position at Child First. This is the essence of the “professional communities” BRYC aims to establish in all fields — networks of alumni and friends supporting each other’s career advancement.
“I’m so excited to be a clinician with Child First and work with children and their caregivers to establish strong and nurturing relationships that will impact generations to come,” Kari shared. “It’s healing and soul-touching work that we do.”
