Overview
The Director of Development (DoD) is BRYC’s lead fundraiser, responsible for driving the organization’s overall development strategy in close partnership with the CEO. This multifaceted individual must be able to operate as both strategist and executor, leading high-level development efforts while also managing the day-to-day tasks that keep fundraising moving. The DoD will oversee all aspects of fundraising, with a primary focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding institutional and individual support.
Duties
Grants Management
- Research, write, submit, and report on grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
- Maintain a pipeline of new grant opportunities to diversify and grow revenue
- Partner with program staff to capture outcomes and data that strengthen proposals and reporting
Donor Stewardship
- Manage all aspects of donor relations, including acknowledgements, invoices/gift agreements, and milestone recognition
- Oversee donor database (Kindful), including tracking donations/pledges, logging communications, and maintaining accurate profiles
- Execute donor recognition initiatives and special touches that deepen engagement
Individual & Corporate Giving
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and corporate donors at all levels
- Design and implement a comprehensive annual giving campaign
- Plan and execute special campaigns (e.g., scholarships, annual giving drives, 225 GIVES) and fundraising events (e.g., parlor meetings, donor receptions)
- Develop proposals, decks, and materials for fundraising opportunities to be delivered by the CEO or Board
- Provide support for CEO preparation ahead of Board meetings and other high-stakes engagements
- Coordinate in-kind giving (e.g., technology, furniture, supplies) to supplement fundraising efforts
- Strengthen fundraising processes and materials as needed to ensure long-term sustainability
Hours

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s minimum
- Min three (3) years of professional fundraising experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and management, individual and/or corporate solicitation, and donor stewardship
- Experience planning and executing fundraising campaigns or events
Skills & Qualities

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals, reports, and donor materials
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Proficiency with donor management systems and Microsoft Office/Google Suite

Compensation
In addition to an employee’s base salary, BRYC provides:

Employment Status
All full-time BRYC team members are exempt, at-will employees. The CEO would confer this position, and either party can terminate it at any time, with or without cause or notice. The “at will” nature of your employment cannot be changed except in a document signed by you, the CEO, and a BRYC officer.
