Everyone can benefit from SRL
The Mandela Washington Fellows spent an afternoon in BRYC Fellows’ shoes.

To learn more about self-regulated learning (SRL), the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders reached out to BRYC. Founded in 2014, the flagship program of the U.S. Government’s Young African Leaders Initiative now has 6,500 alumni worldwide. While in Baton Rouge for a six-week Leadership Institute at LSU, 25 Mandela Fellows toured BRYC Downtown and attended an instructional demonstration of 8th–11th-grade SRL curriculum, bringing to life the Institute’s goal for participants to establish meaningful professional networks with local organizations. LSU’s Director of Global Partnerships Laura Dean extended thanks to the BRYC team, adding, “The Fellows truly enjoyed their time and learned a lot!”
