
Alexis Washington (she/her)
Persistence Manager
Alexis joined BRYC in July 2024 as persistence manager, supporting BRYC’s College Fellows and Alumni. In this role, she helps high school seniors transition smoothly to freshman year, manages BRYC’s roster of formal college partnerships, and provides individualized support to Alumni. She loves building relationships that fuel ongoing Alumni engagement with BRYC.
Alexis is a River Parish native and was raised in Lutcher, La. She is the first in her family to attend Louisiana State University and earn an advanced degree. While at LSU, Alexis was a member of LSU’s Summer Scholars Program and TRiO Student Support Services Program. She obtained a bachelor’s and master’s of social work in 2021 and 2022, respectively, then joined the TRiO Program staff. Alexis is also a licensed master social worker and preparing to become a licensed clinical social worker so she can assist others in prioritizing their health and wellness. Previously, Alexis worked with youth and young adults in inner-city communities, and she has a passion for helping young people “find their thing.” Outside of work, Alexis is usually trying new restaurants, watching YouTube, shopping, or traveling to new places.
