Mychell (“Ms. My”) joined BRYC in May 2024. As a college counselor, she supports Senior Fellows in the college application and financial aid and scholarship processes, guiding them from the end of junior year through matriculation to their school of choice.

Born and raised in Lafayette, La., Mychell earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at LSU–Shreveport. Her previous experience as a college admissions recruiter ignited a dedication to advocating for under-resourced students and ensuring they can access optimal opportunities and career paths. Mychell is committed to empowering BRYC Fellows by motivating them to set ambitious goals and pursue their dreams with determination and enthusiasm. Outside of BRYC, Mychell finds joy in transforming her home into a cozy retreat and spending quality time with family and friends. Her deep-rooted faith grounds her values and inspires her to make a positive impact both in her community and beyond.
