Richard Ross (he/him)

In-School Senior Counselor

Richard Ross joined BRYC in June 2025 as an in-school senior counselor. In this role, he supports Senior Fellows directly in their schools through every stage of the application, financial aid, and postsecondary transition processes.

Born in Lexington, Ky., and raised in Baton Rouge, Richard earned his bachelor of science in psychology from Louisiana State University. His commitment to educational equity began with City Year Baton Rouge, where he served first as a corps member at Idea Bridge Academy and College Prep, and later as a service leader. He went on to teach ACT Prep at Collegiate Baton Rouge before joining City Year New Orleans as the senior learning and development manager, supporting emerging leaders through training, observation/coaching, and post-service planning. Richard is passionate about creating pathways for students to thrive beyond high school and will leverage any and all resources available to make that happen. Outside of BRYC, he enjoys cooking and exploring global food cultures, creative writing, and traveling with family.
