Nothing but net. A significant grant from the NBA Foundation is tipping off a partnership between BRYC, the Foundation, and the New Orleans Pelicans that brings national attention to BRYC’s best-in-class programs and services. “I would say it’s a dream-come-true if it weren’t far more: a chance to dream bigger about what’s possible when people who will accept nothing less than equity team up,” said Executive Director Lucas Spielfogel.
BRYC is one of only two organizations in the Pelicans market to take home a grant during the latest highly competitive award cycle. NBA Foundation Executive Director Greg Taylor shared, “We are proud to partner with and support [BRYC’s] college access programs that help further our similar visions to increase economic opportunity in the Black community.”
Grant funds are slotted for BRYC’s Senior Fellow activities, which take a full-court press approach to the college admissions and financial aid processes. Elin Hawkinson, BRYC’s Associate Director of Communications and Development said, “Our hearts are full of gratitude to the NBA Foundation and the New Orleans Pelicans for their generosity, which will make it possible to send off our seniors with the celebration they’ve worked hard for and earned.”
