Sammar’s (McKinley ’21, Wash U of St. Louis ’25) panel at SXSW EDU was titled, “Solving the College Access Gap.” Led by The New York Times’ Erica Green, the conversation covered enrollment disparities at elite institutions and how new partnerships between high schools and colleges like Yale and Howard are tackling the opportunity divide. “Many underprivileged students never have the chance to join programs like BRYC or the National Education Equity Lab,” Sammar shared. “They deserve education as much as the one percent and should be commended for their achievements, despite receiving so little support.”
