Alumna SPC Shaniah Bethley (BRMHS ’18, LSU ’22) recently received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) for her contributions as vice president of the BOSS (Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers) program on Alabama’s Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker). BOSS helps soldiers identify military and civilian community service projects. Shaniah, who graduated as an animal care specialist from LSU and plans to pursue veterinary school, shared about her recent career highlight on Instagram: “Those who know me, know I love to volunteer wherever I’m located. Being awarded for serving my community is one of the best things to happen to me.”
