  • LSU post-baccalaureate researcher and 2023–2024 Lagniappe Program Scholar Jeanne Smith (ULL ’22) accepted a marine educator position with Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON).

  • Brandaja McMath (BRCC ’25) was awarded the Pamela and Rob Fairly Two-Year Workforce Endowed Scholarship in Nursing and Allied Health.

  • Jay Bonilla, Zach Legier, and Jaylynn Powe (all LSU ’27) showcased their research projects at LSU’s 29th annual Summer Undergraduate Research Forum.

  • Ja’Colby Freeman (McKinley ’19) was promoted to associate banker — market expansion with J.P. Morgan Chase.

  • Amalia Terry-Lee (St. Joseph’s Academy ’28) competed in the summer 2024 Junior Olympics, placing third in the girls 100M and 200M hurdles (13–14 division) and fourth in the girls 200M (13–14 division).

  • Darren Smith (Southern ’19, University of Alabama ’23) was selected for Baton Rouge Alliance for Students 2024–2025 ChangeMakers class

  • Amber Richardson (Southern ’22) received a Daisy Award — a patient-driven acknowledgement of exceptional service — for her nursing care at Baton Rouge General.

  • Roshad Charles (Southeastern ’25) earned an emergency medical technician (EMT) certificate from the National EMS Academy.
