The BRYC Way

The Louisiana Board of Regents’ master plan, “Driving Our Talent Imperative,” declares that, by 2027, 65% of jobs nationally, and 56% of jobs statewide, will require higher education. The Regents say, to meet Louisiana’s future workforce needs, we must grow the proportion of working-age adults with degrees or credentials from 44% to 60% by 2030 – a 45,000-person increase.

But how do we ensure Black students – and all historically underrepresented and under-resourced students – don’t just earn degrees but convert them into economic opportunity? BRYC’s approach is to provide an intervention deeper and more sustained than the challenges our Fellows’ face. We walk Fellows and families through the college and financial aid application process, and we uphold our promise to be there long term, helping Alumni navigate college’s new demands en route to professional success. That’s “the BRYC Way.”
