Kenya Warren-Hollins is BRYC's first-ever director of career services

A message from BRYC’s Executive Director Lucas Spielfogel

I’m proud to introduce BRYC’s first-ever Director of Career Services, Kenya Warren-Hollins, whose focus is helping our alumni get situated professionally. A Southern University alum and former Miss Southern, Kenya boasts a decade of recruitment and career coaching experience – and much more that you can read in her full bio here.

This position is a natural outgrowth of BRYC’s efforts to ensure Fellows don’t just enter college but convert their degrees into career-track employment, especially in the Capital Region. BRYC strives to be an enduring support system in Fellows’ lives, recognizing that, for youth with limited financial and social capital, the road through college and into the workforce is riddled with obstacles. After years of helping alumni pursue jobs and graduate school in an ad hoc manner, we are thrilled to formalize this dimension of our work, helping more graduates redeem the economic promise of higher education. Kenya is equally thrilled to be joining the BRYC team.

“In nine years as a recruiter, I witnessed the inequitable access to career preparation and resultant lack of opportunities for Black and Brown youth. I’m thrilled to be part of an organization that’s committed to reversing the effects of this disparity and invested in the sustained success of its Fellows. Such investment not only demonstrates BRYC’s commitment to students, but also to the future of Baton Rouge.”
