U.S. National Science Foundation grants BRYC Alumna Niya Mogheeth (BRMHS ’22, LSU ’26) a prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship. Niya will receive $159,000 across the five-year fellowship period, which begins when she enters Howard University’s clinical psychology PhD program this fall.
“Howard’s program represents everything I’ve been working toward: rigorous training, a commitment to community, and a legacy of excellence that is second to none.” Niya wrote. “I have dreamed of being in a space where I am surrounded by brilliant Black professionals, researchers, and scholars who are not only pushing the boundaries of our field, but doing it with purpose, power, and intention.”
While finishing her undergraduate degree at LSU this spring, Niya also served on BRYC’s in-school advising team, assisting seniors with making strong-fit plans for life after high school.
