Alumnus Kenneth White Jr. (Liberty ’18, LSU ’23) honored with $1,000 John-Carlo Monti Memorial Award at the 34th Annual New Orleans Film Festival. The award recognizes below-the-line, on-set crew members who carry on John-Carlo (JC) Monti’s spirit of excitement, generosity, joy, and adventure. “Thank you to the NOLA film community and New Orleans Film Society for the immense amount of support,” Kenneth wrote. “I’m blessed to be able to work in such a fruitful city, much like JC.” Kenneth’s not the only BRYC Fellow uplifting Louisiana’s film industry. Tanielma Da Costa appeared in the award-winning documentary Hollow Tree, and Troy Pierre II’s short films have been screened at festivals in Brazil and Greece.
