A standout since joining BRYC in ninth grade, Lauren Dukes (Liberty Magnet High School ’22) was unanimously selected a Class of 2022 “Outstanding Senior” by the College Team for embodying BRYC’s core values.
Hustle: Go Hard
Lauren increased her ACT score an applause-worthy seven points while at BRYC – ultimately securing the highest TOPS award – and maintained a 4.423 GPA.
Integrity: Be Just
She represented herself proudly as a participant in BRYC’s mock trial (2019-2020), sponsored by Jones Walker LLP; as a “Big” Fellow mentoring her underclassmen “Little”; and as the National Honors Society Senior Representative for Liberty.
Community: Maximize BRYC
Despite living 30 miles from the BRYC House, Lauren made it a point to “show up for BRYC,” even volunteering to help recruit new Fellows during school events. She was elected Community Leader for the Amethyst community and student speaker for BRYC’s 2022 College Signing Day.
Senior year, BRYC paired Lauren with mentor Dr. Ashley Clayton for the college admissions process. Lauren secured 11 acceptances and chose Southern University for her next chapter.
